Food safety culture is the beliefs, behaviours and practices in a food business to deliver safe food.
A strong food safety culture means that:
- Everyone understands their role in keeping food safe.
- Staff consistently follow safe practices, even when under pressure.
- Leaders actively promote good food safety behaviours.
- Food safety is prioritised or cost.
- Employees feel confident to speak up about risks, mistakes, or concerns.
Regulation (EU) 2021/382, now requires all food business operators to establish, maintain and provide evidence of an appropriate food safety culture.
Biotec can work with food businesses to ensure that an appropriate food safety culture is in place that complies with their obligations under Regulation (EU) 2021/382. Please phone or email us for advice.
